The School of Law and Policy at the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore, hosted an insightful guest speaker session titled “Corporate Directors Uncovered: From Appointment to Accountability” on 14th April 2026. The event took place in Room 6L01 from 12:30 PM to 3:15 PM.
This academic engagement aimed to provide students and legal professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and legal accountability of corporate directors within Pakistan’s evolving regulatory framework. The session explored critical aspects of corporate governance, including appointment procedures, fiduciary duties, compliance obligations, and legal consequences arising from misconduct or negligence.
The keynote speaker for this session was Mr. Muhammad Imran Nawaz, Advocate of the High Court and a seasoned specialist in Taxation and Corporate Law. With extensive experience in both advisory and litigation domains, Mr. Nawaz has established himself as a prominent legal professional in Pakistan. He served as Legal Advisor to the Trans Group, where he offered strategic counsel on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and commercial transactions
