Salwa Petersen [LL.M. (Harvard); Legal Counsel, Loreal, Paris] taught a short course, titled "Introduction to Project Finance," from 18 November 2016 to 20 November 2016, at UMT School of Law and Policy [SLP].
The students learned about the basic concepts of project finance, its necessary elements, its advantages, and its disadvantages, risk allocation principles, various sources of financing--- e.g., commercial banks, development institutions, shares, bonds, leasing, etc. At the end of the course, the students were not only able to identify projects that meet the essential criteria for a project financing, but were also able to create the structure for a basic project financing.
This was Ms. Petersen's second trip to SLP.
