As part of the ongoing collaboration between UMT School of Law and Policy (SLP) and Friedrich-Alexander-Universität (FAU), Germany, Dr. Klaus Ulrich Schmolke [Chair of Private Law, Company Law, and Business Law, FAU] taught a four-day course, titled “Introduction to Law and Economics,” at SLP, from 20 November 2017 to 23 November 2017.
At the end of the course, Prof. Schmolke awarded FAU certificates to the participants, which included LL.B. and LL.M. in Commercial Law candidates. This was Prof. Schmolke’s second visit to SLP and this was the third course taught by an FAU professor at SLP.
SLP is the only law school in Pakistan where professors from prestigious European universities regularly teach courses and award their certificates to the participants. SLP students do not pay any fee for these courses and certificates.
The collaboration with FAU was negotiated and finalized by Syed Imad-ud-Din Asad [Founding Director and Associate Professor, SLP] in 2015 during his visit to FAU.
Founded in 1743, FAU is a public research university in the state of Bavaria, Germany. With more than 576 professors and more than 39000 students, it is one of the largest universities in Germany.
