Course on Islamic finance at KU Leuven

As part of the ongoing collaboration between Katholieke Universitiet Leuven (KU Leuven) and UMT School of Law and Policy (SLP), Syed Imad-ud-Din Asad [Founding Director and Associate Professor, SLP] taught a graduate-level course on Islamic finance at KU Leuven, Belgium, from 18 February 2015 to 25 February 2015. Other exchange professors, who taught alongside Prof. Asad, hailed from Yale, Cambridge, Amsterdam, Munich, and Heidelberg. Prof. Asad was the only Muslim, the only Asian, and, obviously, the only Pakistani professor.
 
The Rector of University of Management and Technology, Dr. Hasan Sohaib Murad, has congratulated Professor Asad and has lauded his efforts for successfully establishing valuable academic linkages with top European and North American universities and institutions. These initiatives have resulted in actual research cooperation and faculty and student exchanges.
 
Established in 1425, KU Leuven is the first and the largest Belgian university and the oldest existing Catholic university. Also, it is among the top 100 universities in the world.
