On 31 August 2016, Syed Imad-ud-Din Asad [Founding Director and Associate Professor, SLP] and his students were hosted by Dr. Michel Tison [Dean, Faculty of Law, Ghent University]. Dr. Petra de Sutter [Senator, Belgian National Parliament] also attended the event.
Prof. Dr. Tison started the proceedings with an introduction of the law faculty at Ghent University. This was followed by an introduction of UMT School of Law and Policy by Prof. Asad. Both agreed that a formal collaboration between the two schools would be mutually beneficial. The cooperation would include faculty exchange and student exchange.
