On 19 July 2018, a group of students pursuing LL.B. at UMT School of Law and Policy [SLP] were invited by Justice Jawad Hassan [Judge, Lahore High Court] to witness the proceedings of a Double Bench [DB] of Lahore High Court. The DB comprised of Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi [Judge, Lahore High Court], as the senior judge, and Justice Hassan, as the junior judge. The group was accompanied by Syed Imad-ud-Din Asad [Founding Director and Associate Professor, SLP].
The group witnessed the disposal of various banking and corporate matters by the DB. Afterwards, the group was hosted by Justice Qureshi in his chamber. Justice Hassan was also present. The two judges had a frank chat with Prof. Asad and his students about legal education, legal profession, and public interest litigation.
Justice Hassan also explained to Justice Qureshi how Prof. Asad has established SLP as one of the prominent law schools in Pakistan.
