On 17 December 2012, a delegation from Center for Law Policy called on Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani at Lahore Branch Registry, Supreme Court of Pakistan. The delegation comprised Syed Imad-ud-Din Asad [Founder and Director, Center for Law and Policy], Mark Tushnet [William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Law, Harvard Law School],and Sara Mahboob [Assistant Director, Center for Law and Policy].
Justice Jillani welcomed Professor Tushnet and appreciated the efforts of Professor Asad because of which prominent legal scholars from North America and Europe have started to participate in academic activities in Pakistan. He explained the significant functions and powers of the Supreme Court--- particularly, judicial review exercised by the court--- to Professor Tushnet. Afterwards, the two had a detailed discussion about the constitutional history of the United States and exchanged views regarding the development of court practices in Pakistan and the U.S.A.
Justice Jillani also presented a copy of the Supreme Court anthem, titled "Justice for All," to Professor Tushnet.
