Poster Presentation and Competition for LLM Students

School of Law and Policy (SLP) of UMT organized a Poster Presentation and Competition providing a platform for LLM scholars to showcase their research work and enhance their academic and presentation skills. A total of 18 students presented their research posters under the supervision of Dr. Zaheer Ahmad.

The event commenced with the formal inauguration by Ms. Khushbakhat Qaiser, Dean, School of Law Policy, along with Dr. Zaheer Ahmad, Dr Kashif Imran Zaidi, Dr. Hassan Shakeel, Muhammad Tanveer Aslam and other faculty members. In the opening remarks, Dr Zaheer Ahmad highlighted the significance of research-based learning and the role of poster presentations in developing analytical thinking and effective academic communication. He emphasized the importance of originality, methodological rigor, and practical relevance in student research.

Each student presented and briefly explained their research poster, covering the study objectives, methodology, key findings, and practical implications. The presentations reflected a strong research orientation, clarity of thought, and growing academic confidence among the participants. At the conclusion of the presentations, a jury carefully evaluated and ranked the posters based on predefined criteria. The following students secured positions in different categories:

1. 1st position: Hamna Noor
2. 2nd Position: Muhammad Abid Khan, Raja Waqas Ahmed and Amir Shabbir
3. 3rd Position: Natasha Sohail and Maria Khurshid
4. Best poster presenter: Muhammad Farooq Sadiq, Kashif Ali and Muhammad Mohsan Virk
5. Best Poster by Title: Zohaib Rasheed and Muhammad Azeem
6. Best Graphical Representation: Fazli Mehmood, Ali Ahmad Dawood and Muhammad Zubair
7. Best Poster (Public Choice): Bushra Urooj
8. Best Originality and Innovation: Humna Mushtaq and Muhammad Talha Aziz

In her closing remarks, Ms. Khushbakhat Qaiser appreciated the students’ research outputs and highlighted the importance of student-led research activities. She encouraged continued engagement in academic and policy-relevant research and emphasized that the School of Public Policy (SLP) will continue to support and promote such research-based initiatives to strengthen the research culture within the school.
