On 25 February 2012, Center for Law and Policy (CLP) organized a talk, titled “International Commercial Arbitration,” for the under-graduate and graduate students of Dr Hasan Murad School of Management (HSM). The speaker was Rana Sajjad Ahmad [LL.M. (Columbia); Member of the New York Bar; Advocate, High Court].
Mr. Ahmad started by introducing and explaining the concept of ADR. Afterwards, he moved to arbitration and its significance in the settlement of international commercial disputes. He also described the main international institutions regarding arbitration and their procedures. In order to clarify his arguments, he used different local and foreign cases and examples.
Afterwards, he encouraged the students to engage in a discussion with him and they covered various relevant issues.
The students appreciated Mr. Ahmad’s interactive style and thanked him for giving them an opportunity to learn new concepts and ideas.
