The School of Law and Policy (SLP), University of Management and Technology, organized an insightful seminar on “Responsibilities of States in International Law” on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. The session was conducted by Advocate Jawad Shabbir Cheema, who shared his expert views on the evolving obligations of states under international legal frameworks.
During his talk, Mr. Cheema highlighted key principles governing state responsibility, including accountability for wrongful acts, compliance with international treaties, and the importance of maintaining global peace and cooperation through adherence to international norms. He also engaged students in thought-provoking discussions on recent international cases and their implications for Pakistan’s legal obligations.
The session, held in Room 6L-03, drew active participation from students and faculty members of the School of Law and Policy. It served as a valuable learning experience, deepening participants’ understanding of international law and the role of states in upholding justice and global order.
