SLP Inaugurates lecture series on the rule of law

Tuesday, October 22, 2019

It is a great pleasure to announce the start of a new lecture series at the SLP, the rule of law lecture series. The object of the series is to promote scholarship, discourse and debate, and to further knowledge and understanding of law. This will be achieved through continuous series of lectures by distinguished judges, legal practitioners, academic lawyers and other eminent speakers.
The students, faculty and administration of SLP will work together to find topics relevant to the current legal climate, particularly in the areas of social justice, administration of justice, access to justice, human rights, climate change, counter-terrorism, money laundering and legal education.
The first lecture of the series will be given by Justice (R) Khalil-Ur-Rehman Ramday on Wednesday, 30 October, at 11.00 AM. The title of his talk is ‘Judicial Activism versus judicial Restraint’. The Lecture will be followed by a reception in the CTL.
