On 01 September 2018, Human Rights and Environmental Protection Committee of Lahore High Court Bar Association organized the first conference, at Lahore High Court, on environmental law, in collaboration with UMT School of Law and Policy [SLP], Lahore University of Management Sciences [LUMS], Nadira Hassan Department of Law [Kinnaird], Center of Human Rights Protection [CHRP], and Research Society of International Law [RSIL].
The conference offered a platform for the honorable judges of the Supreme Court and the High Court, senior lawyers, and academics to discuss fundamental issues regarding environmental law.
The speakers included Justice (r) Tasadaq Hussain Jillani [Former Chief Justice of Pakistan], Justice Qazi Fez Isa [Judge, Supreme Court of Pakistan], Justice Ali Baqar Najfi [Judge, Lahore High Court], Justice Ali Akber Qureshi [Judge, Lahore High Court], and Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan [Judge, Lahore High Court], Dr. Pervez Hassan [Advocate, Supreme Court of Pakistan], Ahmer Bilal Soofi [Advocate, Supreme Court of Pakistan], Dr. Martin Lau [Professor, School of Oriental and African Studies], Anwaar Ul Haq Pannun [President, Lahore High Court Bar Association], and Hassan Iqbal Warraich [Secretary, Lahore High Court Bar Association].
SLP was represented at the conference by a delegation led by Faiqa Ibrahim [Assistant Professor, SLP].
