Students of the School of Law and Policy (SLP), University of Management and Technology (UMT), visited the Directorate of Labour Welfare Department, Lahore, as part of their practical learning initiative. The students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Tipu Sultan, Commissioner, and Mr. Naeem Rafique, Labour Inspector, who shared valuable insights into the department’s functions and responsibilities.
The visit was arranged by Mr. Raja Waqas Ahmad with the aim of strengthening students’ practical skills and providing them with first-hand exposure to the working of labour courts and related administrative processes. During the visit, students observed how cases are handled, how regulations are implemented, and how operational activities are managed within the department.
This educational tour enabled students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world practice, enhancing their understanding of labour laws, dispute resolution mechanisms, and institutional procedures. Such initiatives reflect SLP-UMT’s commitment to experiential learning and professional development.
