Monday, March 06, 2017

As part of the ongoing collaboration between Katholieke Universitiet Leuven (KU Leuven) and UMT School of Law and Policy (SLP), Syed Imad-ud-Din Asad [Founding Director and Associate Professor, SLP] is again taught a graduate-level short-course on Islamic finance at KU Leuven in March 2017. The course was a condensed version of the course on Islamic finance that Professor Asad teaches in the LL.M. in Commercial Law program at SLP, which also serves as a testament to the fact that the quality of courses offered by SLP is at par with the ones offered by the top law faculties in the developed world.

Professor Asad taught the course for the third consecutive year. Previously, he taught the course at the KU Leuven in February 2015 and February 2016.

SLP is the only law school in Pakistan engaged inactive collaborations with European and North American law faculties that not only entail knowledge sharing but also cultural interaction.

Established in 1425, KU Leuven is the first and the largest Belgian university and the oldest existing Catholic university. Also, it is among the top 100 universities in the world.
