On 01 September 2016, SLP’s delegation, led by Syed Imad-ud-Din Asad [Founding Director and Associate Professor, SLP], was hosted by Jan Smets [Governor of the National Bank of Belgium; Member of the Governing Council and the General Council of the European Central Bank] at the Head Office of the Belgian National Bank.
Governor Smets welcomed the delegation to the Bank and thanked Prof. Asad for bringing his students to the Bank for an informational session that was offered afterwards by Dries Cools [Financial Lawyer at the Belgian National Bank] and his colleagues. Prof. Asad thanked Governor Smets for hosting the delegation and providing his students a unique opportunity to learn about the concept and role of central banks in Belgium and in Europe. Prof. Asad also expressed his immense gratitute to Mr. Cools for organizing the meeting and the informational session.
