The School of Law and Policy (SLP) at UMT invites you to enhance your academic and professional journey by opting for a Minor in Law and Policy. This program is designed to complement your major with essential legal awareness, policy understanding, and analytical thinking, skills that empower you to make informed decisions in any profession.

Program Structure

 

Students are required to complete four (4) courses (12 credit hours) to earn a Minor in Law and Policy.

Fall Semester Courses:

  • Introduction to Law and Legal System (LLB 104)
  • Environmental Law (LLB 528)
  • Constitutional Law III (Pakistan) (LLB 312)

Spring Semester Courses:

  • Law of Contract (LLB 204)
  • Human Rights Law (LLB 221)
  • Medical and Forensic Law (LLB 538)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to undergraduate students after completing at least 3 semesters.
  • Minimum CGPA 2.60 required to register.
  • Students can register through the student portal (ERP).

 

Graduation Criteria

  • Minimum GPA of 2.0 in all minor courses.
  • If all required courses are not completed, passed courses will appear as “Additional Courses” on transcripts.

 Facilitation Highlights

  • Minor GPA is calculated separately and does not affect SGPA/CGPA.
  • Students may take up to 21 credit hours per semester (including minors).
  • “W” and “F” grades in Minor courses will not appear on transcripts.
  • Minor courses and title will be reflected on your transcript.
