On 04 December 2017, UMT School of Law and Policy’s delegation, led by Syed Imad-ud-Din Asad [Founding Director and Associate Professor, SLP], was cordially hosted at the French Senate by Frederic Bourdais [Legal Counsel, French Senate].
Upon arrival at the Senate, the delegation was treated to a full-course lunch at the Senators’ restaurant. There were different French entrées, main dishes, cheeses, and desserts in order to give the delegation a taste of the French cuisine. Afterwards, the delegation was given a thorough tour of the Senate. The delegation was also given the opportunity to attend the proceedings of the on-going plenary session of the French Senate. Throughout the tour, the host explained various details regarding the French system of government, working of the French Senate, history of the French Senate, and the palace in which the French Senate is located.
This was the first time that a Pakistani law school was hosted at the French Senate.
