Established in 2011, the School of Law and Policy (SLP), a constituent unit of the University of Management and Technology, Lahore, offers a five-year degree program of LL.B and a two-year specialized postgraduate degree of LL.M in Commercial Law.

Since its inception, SLP has been dedicated to the goal of providing comprehensive and holistic legal education that focuses not only on teaching students about the content of the law but also hones their ability to think, question, and challenge difficult legal concepts. Additionally, we are committed to ensuring that we are able to inculcate in their core values of discipline, punctuality, and ethics, which are quintessential to any law student’s progress.

SLP continuously provides opportunities and encouragement for its students to participate in various curricular and co-curricular activities, such as moot court competitions, debates, guest lectures, conferences, and workshops. The School has adopted a discussion-based teaching methodology for enhancing the communications skills and the critical thinking abilities of its students. Our law students are further supported by having access to excellent infrastructure and a well-equipped law library that gives our students the best opportunities in exploring the world of legal knowledge. Furthermore, the School’s highly qualified and experienced faculty enables the development of legal professionalism and a sense of social commitment through the teaching-learning process.

In recent times, legal education has proved to be an area of growth avenues and its reach has widened in leaps and bounds, which SLP has facilitated by forming associations with the. McGill University, Coventry University, International Bar Association, The University of Sheffield, University of Glasgow, ASIAN Law Institute (ASLI), SOAS University of London, ZHEJIANG University. These associations reflect the readiness of the SLP to provide opportunities to students much beyond the curriculum, in particular teacher and student exchange programs, knowledge sharing, and socio-cultural exchange with foreign countries.
